Winners of the 2023 Heavy Equipment Engineering Expertise Competency Competition (K3TAB)

Trakindo Presents the 2023 Heavy Equipment Engineering Expertise Competency Competition as a form of contribution in advancing vocational education for heavy equipment in the country and preparing reliable human resources in the future

PT Trakindo Utama (Trakindo), a Caterpillar heavy equipment solution provider in Indonesia, announced SMKN 1 Balikpapan and Banjarmasin State Polytechnic as the General Champions of the 2023 Heavy Equipment Engineering Expertise Competency Competition (K3TAB). Carrying the theme "Achieve Brilliant Achievements, Build a Brilliant Future", the implementation of K3TAB 2023 has succeeded in reaching more than 30 SMK and Polytechnic participants majoring in heavy equipment from various regions of Indonesia.

Trakindo Chief Administration Officer Yulia Yasmina explained, the implementation of K3TAB is  an event to identify the abilities and potentials of students majoring in Heavy Equipment Engineering in relation to the readiness of students to enter the world of work. "K3TAB is part of the CO-OP program that Trakindo has carried out since 1996, and is one illustration of Trakindo's seriousness   in  contributing to advancing Heavy Equipment vocational education in the country. We hope that all stakeholders involved continue to have the spirit to jointly continue this good synergy for the advancement of the quality of the nation's next generation," Yulia explained.

More than the previous year, this year's K3TAB was attended by 8 vocational schools and 5 polytechnics from various regions in Indonesia, including SMKN 1 Balikpapan, SMKN 1 Lubuk Pakam, SMKN 1 Mimika, SMKN 1 Singosari, SMKN 2 Dumai, SMKN 2 Sumbawa Besar, SMKN 3 Sorong, SMKN 6 Samarinda, Banjarmasin State Polytechnic, Padang State Polytechnic, TEDC Bandung Polytechnic,  Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic, and Samarinda State Polytechnic.

 

Muhammad Nadlifsyam  as the representative of the GENERAL Champion at the SMK level from SMK 1 Balikpapan  and Heru Supriyanto, S.Pd  as the representative of the accompanying teacher said that this K3TAB activity was very positive, because it could help schools in providing a lot of knowledge and a direct picture of the world of work. "We would like to thank Trakindo, teachers, and all those involved in organizing the K3TAB 2023 competition. Our achievements during the K3TAB competition cannot be separated from the direction and education of Trakindo instructors during our on-the-job training  (OJT) training, so that we can feel real work experience and can undergo the competition with good results," they said.

 

Pinta Raharja  as the representative of the GENERAL Champion at the Polytechnic level from Banjarmasin State Polytechnic and M. Khafidz Arifin, ST, MT  as an accompanying lecturer expressed their gratitude and gratitude for the selection of Banjarmasin Polytechnic as  the General Champion of K3TAB 2023. "We feel very grateful for this victory. For us, teamwork and good communication are the main keys to the success of our team, so that it can succeed in becoming the overall champion. Hopefully in the future K3TAB can continue to be held and there will be more and more other activities involving participants from Polytechnics or SMK. In addition, we also hope that the big family  of Trakindo K3TAB  can continue to establish communication and can meet again while in the world of work," they said.

 

The K3TAB program is designed to review the competencies (skills and knowledge) obtained by students for approximately 2 years, according to their level of education. Thus, the materials tested are adjusted to the material that has been obtained by students within that period. In general, the participants in this competition were tested through 4 stages, involving a jury team of experts/professionals from Trakindo. Among them, namely Innovation Presentation to explain 1 presentation title in Indonesian; Knowledge Assessment with written exams and identifying the names of components on the engine and machine; Practical Assessment by doing work, starting from determining the reusability  of a component, to carrying out Preventive Maintenance (maintenance) on the engine; Teamwork & Attitude where during the activity, the behavior of the participants will also be assessed.

With the end of K3TAB 2023, Yulia Yasmina congratulated and entrusted her message to all participants so that they can continue to excel and be an inspiration for colleagues, family, society, and the country. "Your existence today representing a school or campus is an achievement in itself. Continue this high fighting spirit, continue to develop yourself relentlessly into a skilled and adaptive person and achieve a brilliant future. We would like to thank the teachers, lecturers, and various other parties who have committed to the advancement of Heavy Equipment engineering by participating in this event," concluded Yulia Yasmina.
