Trakindo–SMKN 6 Batam Inaugurate Heavy Equipment Vocational Partnership

Trakindo has officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with SMKN 6 Batam as a strategic step to support vocational education in heavy equipment technology. The agreement was signed by Trakindo’s Chief Administration Officer, Yulia Yasmina, and the Principal of SMKN 6 Batam, Abdul Mukti.

This initiative is part of Trakindo’s commitment to the education pillar of its Corporate Citizenship (CSR) program, which focuses on preparing Indonesia’s young generation with heavy equipment technical competencies that meet industry standards. Guided by the “Link & Match” principle, the collaboration aims to strengthen the alignment between educational institutions and industry needs through various programs such as on-the-job training (PKL), guest lectures, industrial visits, curriculum alignment, and other relevant vocational initiatives.

Since 1996, Trakindo has been a pioneer in developing heavy equipment technical education through its CO-OP program, designed to prepare highly skilled professionals for the national heavy equipment industry. With this new collaboration, the CO-OP program now partners with 10 vocational schools (SMKs) and 7 polytechnics across Indonesia. SMKN 6 Batam is the only vocational school in the Riau Islands Province that offers a heavy equipment technology program, making this partnership strategically significant for strengthening the region’s vocational ecosystem.

“This signing marks a concrete effort to reinforce synergy between the education sector and industry through the CO-OP development program for vocational (SMK) heavy equipment education. We hope this collaboration with SMKN 6 Batam will deliver long-term value for the school, the industry, and Indonesia’s young talent,” said Yulia Yasmina, Chief Administration Officer of Trakindo.

Through this partnership, Trakindo reaffirms its commitment not only as a provider of world-class Caterpillar equipment solutions but also as a national company dedicated to developing Indonesia’s future generation, young talents equipped to meet the demands and challenges of the industry.
