Trakindo Supports Human Resources Quality Improvement in Papua through the Papua Development Program

Diverse stakeholders must support development in Papua, especially when it comes to the area of growing the amount of expertise for the field of human resources (HR), as goes beyond infrastructure.

The presence of quality human resources increases the competitiveness of local workers in absorbing labor for every development in the land of Papua. This plan is expected to boost Papua's development and enhance the welfare of its citizens.

Supporting the development of quality human resources, Trakindo presents the Papua Development program with Trakindo. This program helps develop potential and prepare human resources in Papua to be ready to work through various training programs, especially in recognizing, operating and maintaining Caterpillar generator sets.

Heru Hermawan, Product Manager Power Systems Trakindo, raised that Trakindo's support for government programs to develop Papua's human resource capability through the training it gave. "This is an initial initiative initiated by Trakindo by presenting the Papua Development Together program with Trakindo," he said at the opening training session on March 15, 2023 in Jayapura.

Several representatives of the local administration, especially Robby Kepas Awi, the Acting Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Jayapura City, and local community leaders also attended this occasion. In his remarks, he expressed his gratitude for the work done by Trakindo to teach members of the community because it might assist to raise the standard of Papuan human resources, particularly in Jayapura. He symbolically presented training certificates to the participants on this occasion.

The training activities were carried out for three days, from 15 - 17 March 2023 with two training sessions per day. The training session's main objectives were tool and generator maintenance and operation. At the conclusion of the training session, participants who participated in this activity will receive a formal certificate from Trakindo. The Papuan people have the chance to increase their competence through a variety of training programs offered.

One analogy for this training is that it is like honing the "hook" that will be used to catch "fish" in the vast sea. The existence of this training program reflects the company's commitment to consistently spreading of its spirit "Advancing You Forward," which is prooved by the growth of HR competences in Papua. In the future plans include more training models that can undoubtedly boost human resources in Papua," Close Heru.
