Trakindo Shares Vocational Education Best Practices

.

Trakindo participated as a featured speaker in the Partnership Webinar Series organized by the Directorate of Vocational High Schools (SMK), Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), on May 26, 2026. Carrying the theme "Preparing Job-Ready Graduates Through an End-to-End Strategic Partnership Between Vocational Schools and the Heavy Equipment Industry," the webinar served as a collaborative platform for the government, educational institutions, and industry to strengthen vocational education in Indonesia. The event was attended by vocational high schools (SMKs) from across the country.

The webinar opened with remarks from Trakindo's Chief Administration Officer, Yulia Yasmina, and Director of Vocational High Schools at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Arie Wibowo Khurniawan. Trakindo then presented the company's best practices in implementing its Cooperative Education (CO-OP) Program. The session also featured a testimonial from one of Trakindo's partner schools, SMKN 1 Singosari.

In his remarks, Arie Wibowo Khurniawan emphasized that industry partnerships are the foundation of quality vocational education. He expressed hope that Trakindo's collaboration model would inspire more vocational schools across Indonesia to adopt similar practices.

During the webinar, Trakindo shared its experience in implementing the CO-OP Program, which has been running since 1996. The program is a strategic partnership with 11 vocational high schools and 8 polytechnics nationwide, designed to equip graduates with competencies that meet the needs of the heavy equipment industry.

The CO-OP Program adopts an end-to-end approach, covering student admissions, curriculum alignment, teacher development, industrial internships, competency certification, and recruitment opportunities. This integrated model helps ensure vocational education remains aligned with industry demands.

"We believe that producing job-ready graduates requires strong collaboration between educational institutions and industry. Through the CO-OP Program, Trakindo supports the entire learning process while strengthening teachers' competencies, as they play a vital role in developing high-quality talent," said Yulia Yasmina, Chief Administration Officer of Trakindo.

The program has produced many skilled technicians for Trakindo, with numerous alumni advancing into managerial roles within Trakindo or building successful careers across TMT Group companies and Trakindo’s customers.

Through its participation in the webinar, Trakindo reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening vocational education through sustainable partnerships and hopes its experience will inspire broader collaboration between schools and industry in developing a future-ready workforce.
