Trakindo Samarinda Distributes Compost to Residents of Sengkotek Village

.

As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainable environmental management, Trakindo Samarinda Branch distributed compost from the Rumah Kompos program to residents of Sengkotek Village. This initiative is part of the company’s efforts to deliver tangible benefits to the environment and the communities surrounding its operational areas.

The compost handover was led directly by the Head of Trakindo Samarinda Branch, Muhammad Rahman. The compost distributed was produced from grass and organic waste generated by the company, which has been independently managed by Trakindo employees through the Rumah Kompos program. This program aims to reduce the volume of organic waste that could potentially be discarded while transforming it into a valuable resource for the community.

The organic waste processing is carried out in a controlled manner, starting from material collection, processing, to ready-to-use compost. The organic compost produced can be utilized to improve soil fertility, support home gardens, and community farms, thereby contributing positively to the environment and local food sustainability.

Residents of Sengkotek Village welcomed the initiative positively. In addition to helping meet the community’s need for organic fertilizer, the Rumah Kompos program also serves as an educational platform to raise awareness about the importance of waste management and sustainable resource utilization. Through this initiative, Trakindo hopes to continue building harmonious relationships with the surrounding community while promoting collective environmental awareness.
