Trakindo optimistic about increasing customer productivity, at Mining EXPO 2023

Trakindo invites customers to get closer to the Cat® MineStar™ System, while also launching a Motor Grader unit Cat 16 GC to increase productivity in the mining industry

More about MineStar, this technology is a comprehensive solution that integrates products, processes and human resources to help industry players manage the mining work chain, from material tracking, fleet management, heavy equipment health identification, to autonomous equipment systems. Apart from that, MineStar also has updated technology features, including MineStar Edge as a cloud-based operational ecosystem that provides visibility into every aspect of operations (measuring, managing, analyzing), with data accuracy of up to 98%, near-real-time information. This allows supervisors to access information from computers or tablets from anywhere with just an internet connection, whether in the pit or in a remote office. Supervisors can also make changes to carry out the mine plan efficiently and provide optimal quality to the site/plant. Guardian 2 features an advanced, non-intrusive system that effectively reduces the possibility of dangerous incidents by alerting the operator through seat vibrations and audible alarms, as well as analyzing detected symptoms of fatigue, microsleep or other disturbances.

Trakindo customers felt various benefits directly, one of which was PT Cipta Kridatama (CK). Ilham Medica as Technology Solution Manager of Cipta Kridatama said that the decision to use MineStar was a form of CK's digital transformation in facing challenges in mining. After using MineStar, especially the Fleet / Fleet Management System (FMS) feature, CK has felt various positive changes, and has even provided a lot of work with better results than before. One example is providing faster unit route changes with just the touch of a finger, because previously supervisors had to go to each unit directly to provide a new route to the operator.

Together with Trakindo, CK has installed MineStar technology at the PT Binuang Mitra Bersama Block Two (BMB) site, and to date more than 162 units have installed FMS technology, and the number continues to increase. "As a mining player with the fourth largest production output in Indonesia, it is certainly not easy to organize so many units on one site. However, with MineStar technology, especially FMS technology, it seems easier. Complementing Trakindo's commitment to increasing the productivity of the mining industry, at this year's Mining Expo Trakindo also launched a heavy equipment unit to support work in mining, namely the Cat 16 GC Motor Grader which is more economical and easy to maintain. The Cat 16 GC is the unit that customers need, is simple to use and has the largest blade in its class, namely 18ft/5.5 meters. This unit is very reliable in completing construction and maintenance work on haul roads quickly and effectively, so that operations can continue to run smoothly and profitably. In fact, this unit can cut fuel consumption by up to 5 percent. "The launch of this unit also complements Trakindo's ongoing commitment to supporting increased customer productivity in the mining industry, because the presence of good road access will of course save costs for maintaining machines, fuel and tires for all operational vehicles in mining," said Ario.
