Trakindo Innovakids 2023: Preparing Indonesian Children as Future Innovators

Trakindo's commitment to social responsibility with a particular focus on the education pillar, which aiming to cultivate an early culture of innovation that equips children to effectively address future challenges.

Recognizing the rapid advancements in science and technology and the resulting increase in competition for children in the future. Understanding this, Trakindo Innovakids 2023 is become a form of ongoing commitment in implementing the Corporate Citizenship program of PT Trakindo Utama (Trakindo), especially in the education pillar as one of the biggest pillars with the biggest share, in order to foster a culture of innovation from an early age while preparing Indonesian children as future innovator.

Yulia Yasmina as Trakindo's Chief Administration Officer explained, Trakindo Innovakids is a celebration of Trakindo's coaching program in Trakindo's partner elementary schools throughout Indonesia to share good practices and improve school innovation culture, as well as compete for student innovation work. "Trakindo Innovakids exists as a forum to motivate students and teachers to think creatively and innovatively, through a challenge-based learning model. This learning model will focus students on real problems they encounter around them, and invite them to think critically in solving these problems, through the development of innovative products," Yulia explained.

Trakindo Innovakids is the culmination of the Trakindo Education Transformation Movement Program (GENERASI) which is planned for 3 (three) years starting in 2021 which focuses on improving school governance, preparing the learning environment, cultivating character, and integrating CBL (Challenge Based Learning). Entering its second year of implementation, this program has benefited 30 elementary schools, 5 junior high schools, 214 elementary schools, 700 teachers, 3500 students and 350 parents in partner schools. The Trakindo Innovakids program also complements the support of the Trakindo Education Assistance program, at the state elementary school level throughout Indonesia which began in 2010, even at the Vocational High School and Polytechnic level which began in 1996

"This year, Trakindo Innovakids carries the theme Environmental Health Innovation. This is in line with the Strategic Plan (Renstra) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) regarding the School Health Business Revitalization (UKS) program through Healthy Schools in order to create Indonesian children who are healthy, strong and intelligent with character," Yulia added.

Representative of the Expert Judges Athanasia Amanda Septevani, who currently also serves as a Senior Researcher at BRIN and has been named the 99 Most Inspiring Women in Indonesia by Globe Asia 2019 expressed her appreciation and support for the implementation of the Trakindo Innovakids 2023 activity, in order to stimulate children from an early age so that they are accustomed to expressing ideas and ideas into useful tangible products. "This year's Trakindo Innovakids theme, which is creating a healthy school environment, is very relevant and important to explore early on because environmental issues are global problems that are still a challenge and a serious concern to this day. Through this event, our younger siblings can learn actively by practicing sensitivity to environmental conditions and are even able to produce new works to answer environmental problems," she emphasized.

In its implementation, the Trakindo Innovakids program is divided into two stages. In the early stages, this program focused on reviewing the school's vision and mission, introducing character education programs and the Challenge Based Learning approach, as well as assisting in making prototypes of student innovations. Then in the next stage, the implementation of the advanced stage of Challenge Based Learning, "good practice writing" training for teachers so they can amplify innovation from schools, production of innovation prototypes produced by students in the previous stage, and competition for young innovators. After going through the judging phase, it was finally decided that the best three in the Trakindo Innovakids 2023 event were, including SD Inpres Nunbaun Delha Kupang East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), SD Negeri 46 Cakranegara West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and SD Negeri 65 Pekanbaru.

Mardiana as the finalist teacher representative from SD Inpres Nunbaun Delha Kupang East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) expressed her gratitude and gratitude to Trakindo as the organizer and all parties who have helped SD Inpres Nunbaun Delha Kupang East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) during the series of Trakindo activities Innovakids 2023. "We hope that this appreciation can be an additional motivation, both for students and all school members to continue to develop creativity and innovation so that they can provide things that are beneficial to society, and become the best provision for students in the future," said Mardiana.

Trakindo believes that education is the foundation for building national character and individuals with character and ethics. The presence of the Trakindo Innovakids 2023 program is also in line with Trakindo's mission to create decent and quality jobs for as many Indonesian people as possible, as well as create quality human resources through Trakindo's support for education in Indonesia. Since 2010 Trakindo has education assistance program at the elementary level, with a focus on Character Education from an early age.
