Trakindo Extends Humanitarian Aid to Flood and Landslide Victims in Sumatra

.

Heavy rainfall at the end of November 2025 triggered floods and landslides across several regions in Sumatra. These events not only damaged residential areas and disrupted transportation access but also resulted in loss of life.

As a form of care and social responsibility, Trakindo began distributing humanitarian aid on December 4, 2025 to several areas affected by the floods and landslides, including Sibolga in North Sumatra; Bireuen Regency, Tangse District, and Pidie Regency in Aceh; as well as Agam Regency and Pasaman Regency in West Sumatra.

Trakindo coordinated with local governments and relevant authorities to ensure that the assistance reached the people who needed it most. The aid distributed included basic food packages, ready-to-eat meals, clean drinking water, blankets and sleeping supplies, sanitation and hygiene items, medicines, and essential health supplies. All assistance was delivered through evacuation shelters and official distribution points designated by local governments and disaster management agencies.

In several locations such as Sibolga, Tangse, Bireuen, Lhokseumawe, and Pidie Regency, landslides had blocked distribution routes. To support faster emergency response, Trakindo provided technical assistance in collaboration with customers in the affected areas, including CV Jasa Tambang, PT Krueng Meuh, CV Indokarya Teknik, and CV Rasya Tambon. This collaboration helped reopen access roads, facilitate evacuation efforts, and enable aid to reach previously isolated areas.

Through these efforts, Trakindo hopes to provide meaningful support to affected communities, particularly during emergency situations, and to contribute to recovery efforts in the disaster-impacted regions.
