Performing Brilliantly, Banjarmasin State Polytechnic and State Vocational High School 1 Balikpapan Won the 2024 K3TAB General Champion

The 2024 Heavy Equipment Engineering Expertise Competency Competition (K3TAB) is a manifestation of Trakindo's commitment and real contribution in preparing talents for heavy equipment practitioners who are ready to work in Indonesia

Jakarta, October 7, 2024 – PT Trakindo Utama (Trakindo), a provider of Caterpillar heavy equipment solutions in Indonesia, once again presents the Heavy Equipment Engineering Expertise Competency Competition (K3TAB) which this time comes with the theme Actively Advancing Potential, Spirit of Achievement. K3TAB 2024 took place from September 30 to October 3 at the Trakindo Cileungsi Training Center which was attended by 39 participants from Polytechnics and Vocational Schools majoring in Heavy Equipment Engineering from various regions in Indonesia. After going through a series of competency test processes, the Banjarmasin State Polytechnic and tate Vocational High School 1 Balikpapan were finally announced as the 2024 K3TAB General Champions.

Trakindo Chief Administration Officer Yulia Yasmina explained, K3TAB is an annual competition between educational institutions (State Vocational High School and Polytechnic) that have a heavy equipment engineering department and collaborate with Trakindo to identify students' abilities and potentials in terms of readiness to enter the world of work. "This program is Trakindo's commitment to advancing Heavy Equipment Engineering Education in Indonesia, both at the high school and polytechnic levels.  

The K3TAB program is designed to review the competencies (skills & knowledge) that students have acquired for approximately two years in their respective educational institutions fostered by Trakindo. For this reason, the material tested in this competition is also adjusted to the material that has been obtained by students during that period.

This year, the implementation of K3TAB was attended by 5 Polytechnics and 8 Vocational Schools from various regions in Indonesia, including Banjarmasin State Polytechnic, Padang State Polytechnic, Samarinda State Polytechnic, Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic, Madura State Polytechnic, SMKN 1 Balikpapan, SMKN 1 Lubuk Pakam, SMKN 1 Mimika, SMKN 1 Singosari, SMKN 2 Dumai, SMKN 2 Sumbawa Besar, SMKN 3 Sorong, and SMKN 6 Samarinda.

The representative of the Grand Champion at the Polytechnic level from the Banjarmasin State Polytechnic, Aldo Yoga Pratama Al Aziz, expressed his gratitude and gratitude for the selection of the Banjarmasin State Polytechnic as the 2024 K3TAB General Champion. "We are grateful for the achievements and assessments given, so we were crowned as the General Champion. We hope that the implementation of K3TAB can continue, so that other younger brothers and sisters after us can continue to develop their potential and dare to get out of their comfort zone. Because in this program we are encouraged to try new things, take risks, and not be afraid of failure," said Aldo Yoga Pratama Al Aziz.

Representative of the Grand Champion at the SMK level from SMKN 1 Balikpapan, Muhammad Alif, appreciated Trakindo's efforts to organize K3TAB and carefully design competition stations to assess the level of suitability of participants' learning. "We are very grateful to Trakindo, the accompanying teachers, and everyone who supported us during this competition. Through this K3TAB, we get a clearer picture of the aspects that are good and need to be improved, so that we can be better prepared to enter the world of work," said Muhammad Alif.

In general, the participants in this competition are tested through three stages, involving a team of expert/professional judges from Trakindo. Among them, namely Innovation Presentation for presentation tests; Knowledge Assessment with a written exam and identifying the names of components on the engine and machine; Practical Assessment by doing work, starting from determining the reusability of a component, to carrying out preventive maintenance (maintenance) on the engine. In addition, during the competition activities, the judges also assessed the Teamwork & Attitude of the participants.

At the 2024 K3TAB Awarding, Yulia Yasmina also motivated the talents of heavy equipment practitioners to continue to hone their skills and innovate to achieve achievements. "This competition is more than just an event to show skills. It is a platform to learn, share experiences, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood. I hope that all participants can take benefits, actively develop their potential, get out of their comfort zone, and achieve achievements.
