Consistently Applying Sustainability Principles, Trakindo Wins Gold Winner at Indonesia Corporate Sustainability Award 2024

A Form of Corporate Citizenship or CSR Trakindo through the Disaster Safe School program and the Heavy Equipment Young Talent Scholarship

The implementation of sustainable business practices is very important to create a better world for future generations. Therefore, PT Trakindo Utama (Trakindo),  a provider of Caterpillar heavy equipment solutions in Indonesia, continues to prioritize the principle of sustainability as an inseparable soul of Trakindo's business body. This succeeded in making Trakindo the best company in empowerment in the education sector by winning the Gold award  in the Best Practice in Education category, and winning the Silver award  in  the Best Practice in Creating Shared Value category at the Indonesia Corporate Sustainability Award 2024. This national-scale award was obtained for Trakindo's dedication and commitment to implementing sustainable business practices, which include excellent environmental, social, and corporate governance aspects. 

Trakindo Chief Administration Officer Yulia Yasmina explained that Trakindo's success in winning an award at ICSA 2024 is the result of the consistency of all Trakindo employees in realizing what has become the company's commitment. "Trakindo believes that sustainability is a key component for the company by not only prioritizing financial profits, but also building harmony between business operations and their impact on society and the environment. The acquisition of this award is an encouragement for us to continue to implement one of Trakindo's core values, namely Sustainable Development," explained Yulia.

The Indonesia Corporate Sustainability Award 2024 is an award ceremony given to companies, individuals, and organizations that have shown extraordinary commitment in implementing sustainability principles in their businesses. This award recognizes the best sustainability initiatives in the fields of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) in various industry sectors. In the Best Practice in Education category, Trakindo carries the Disaster Safe School - Education Transformation Movement (GENERASI) program. A structured school development program that will be implemented for three years (2021-2024), includes school-based training and mentoring with a focus on improving school governance, preparing learning environments, cultivating character, integrating Challenge-Based Learning (CBL), and creating ASRI (Disaster Safe, Healthy, and Environmentally Friendly) schools. As for the Best Practice in Creating Shared Value category, Trakindo carries the Heavy Equipment Young Talent Scholarship Program. This full scholarship program is given to outstanding vocational school students to study at the Polytechnic of the Department of Heavy Equipment Engineering so that students can become quality human resources and contribute positively to the heavy equipment industry.

Both initiatives are the embodiment of  the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program or Corporate Citizenship Trakindo. Trakindo carries out four pillars of Corporate Citizenship, namely Education, Environment, Health, and Humanitarian Assistance. "The Education Pillar is the largest part of Trakindo's overall Corporate Citizenship program  . The company focuses on the field of education because as a national company, we want to participate in advancing the future of the nation's generation through education," said Yulia.

For Trakindo, Corporate Citizenship is not a program designed for the short term, but for the long term. This is a form of the company's contribution in helping and empowering the community. "Mathematically, business does aim to achieve profits. However, we believe that Corporate Citizenship is an important good impact on society from the existence of Trakindo. For us, the more important thing is how to carry out Corporate Citizenship in a sustainable manner, without being affected by fluctuations in the company's business conditions. All of this we strive to ensure a balance between business, the environment, and society for sustainable progress," Yulia concluded.
